Online Fitness Company Becomes More Accessible to Those Affected by Type 2 Diabetes
LOS ANGELES—April 13, 2016—inerTRAIN has partnered with the inerHEALTH Foundation, a 501(c)(3) public benefit corporation founded to help low-income individuals with type 2 diabetes or prediabetes/metabolic syndrome live healthier lives through movement and nutrition. The founders of inerHEALTH, Andy Padilla and inerTRAIN CEO Jeff Marinucci, saw a lack of resources within this community, and made it their mission to make personalized exercise and health guidance more accessible.
Clients from the Foundation will work with inerTRAINERS who will build a customized exercise plan and provide ongoing motivation and expert fitness advice. The individual fitness programs are designed based on the clients’ physical abilities, personal circumstances, and stage of diabetes.
“I come from a family with a long history of diabetes, where nearly half of the adults have diabetes or have some sort of complication from the disease,” said Andy Padilla, President and Co-Founder of inerHEALTH. “Because of this history, I have taken steps in my life to incorporate exercise and nutrition, and I want to teach and inspire others to do the same.”
“I founded inerTRAIN as a way to make personal fitness training more accessible to more people,” said Jeff Marinucci, Co-Founder of inerHEALTH and CEO of inerTRAIN. “Through this partnership with the inerHEALTH Foundation, I am excited to deploy inerTRAIN’s resources to help address one of the biggest public health issues we face as a society today.”
